How to play Pai Gow Poker:
The Pai Gow Poker cards are dealt to each player in seven face-down cards. Four cards are dealt but unused on each hand regardless of the number of people playing. Player betting and deal positions are assigned a number from one to seven, starting with the player acting as banker that hand, and move counter-clockwise around the table. If a seat is empty on a particular deal, the hand is still dealt, but then placed on the discard pile with the four unused cards.
The only two-card hands are one pair and high cards. Five-card hands use standard Poker hand hierarchy. The joker counts as a wild card where in the five-card hand it can be used to complete a straight or flush if possible. If not it is considered an ace. In the two-card hand it is always an ace. If each of the player's now-separated hands beat the banker's hands then he wins the bet. If only one of his hands beats the banker then he pushes. If both of his hands lose to the banker then he loses. In Pai Gow Poker, ties go to the banker. If the player fouls his hand, meaning that the low hand outranks his high hand results in re-arrangement or forfeiture of the hand. In casino-banked Pai Gow Poker games, the banker is required to set his hand in a manner called the "house way", so that the dealer does not have to implement any strategy in order to beat the players.
